Accountant for freelancers

An accountant who
looks ahead.

Most accountants add up what happened after the fact. You hand in your quarter, wait, and only then hear what is missing or what you could have done while there was still time.

mijnfinn works the other way round. You forward receipts, invoices and questions via WhatsApp the moment you come across them. That is all. We process everything continuously, prepare your VAT return every quarter, prepare your income tax return, and raise the flag when something is missing.

The problem is not that you can’t

Almost every freelancer who does their own bookkeeping is perfectly capable of it. You are smart enough to work out which category a receipt belongs in. The problem is when you do it: on a Sunday evening, or in the week before the filing deadline, with a shoebox or a folder full of screenshots next to you.

And there is a second problem that is less obvious: nobody is watching. When you book it yourself, there is no moment where someone says something is missing or that you are leaving something on the table. You only notice when it can no longer be fixed, or never at all.

That is the difference continuous processing makes. When your receipts come in on the day you get them, a missing invoice surfaces in the week it matters. Not three months later, when you have long forgotten what that payment was for.

What you still do yourself

Being honest about where our work ends saves disappointment. You file your VAT return with the Dutch Tax Administration yourself, with your own DigiD. We prepare all the figures and send a step-by-step guide, but the final click is yours. The same goes for your income tax return, which we prepare for you every year.

That is a deliberate choice, not a shortcoming. It keeps you in control of what is filed in your name, and you see with your own eyes what is in it before it goes out.

Beyond that, little is left: forward receipts when you have them, and answer a question now and then. Usually something like “was this payment business or private?”. You do not keep any records and you do not learn any software.

What it costs, and what to compare it with

€119 per month, excluding VAT, with your annual income tax return included. A fixed amount: no hourly rate and no extra charges afterwards. That also means asking a question never costs extra, and that matters. With an hourly rate you start wondering whether something is worth asking, and that very doubt costs money.

Also count the fact that you no longer need accounting software. No Exact, no Moneybird, no separate subscription running alongside.

Sound familiar?

You are great at your work.
Not (necessarily) at your bookkeeping.

Quarterly VAT panic

Every three months it starts again: where is that receipt, and is this even deductible? Together we can prevent that.

Software with homework

With accounting software you still end up booking everything yourself at night. Just forward it, we take it off your hands completely.

Steering without numbers

You only know where you stand after the quarter, and by then it is too late to adjust. We keep an eye on things with you, all year. Always up-to-date figures.

How it works

Three steps, simply via WhatsApp.

Step 01

Forward it

That is all you need to do. No folders, no software.

Step 02

We process everything

We set up a digital vault for you where everything is kept, and we follow up in time on anything that is missing. So your books are always up to date and we can think along while the year is still running.

Step 03

Tax returns without stress

We prepare your VAT return every quarter and your income tax return every year. You only approve and file, with our step-by-step guide.

A real case

The €800 deduction
that just slipped away.

A real year-end closing, financial year 2025. Only when the figures were drawn up did it show: €2,841 in investments. Exactly €59 below the threshold for the small-scale investment deduction (KIA). Over €800 in deductions, missed for the price of one monitor.

Afterwards, nobody can do anything about it. That is why mijnfinn watches thresholds like this during the year: a heads-up in October, not a surprise in March.
